I was born in Rhode Island but have lived in Vermont for most of my life. I have taught English literature at the high school and college levels for over 20 years and have published some short stories, book reviews, and poetry from time to time.  My wife of over 25 years and I have three cats and a part-time turtle (by which I mean, of course, that the turtle lives with us during the summers, not that he transforms into something else in his off hours).  I've turned my hand to various hobbies: fly-fishing, restoring antique tractors, and (most recently) landscape painting.  I love to play the drums, but haven't been in a band for decades -- now I just bash around in the spare room while She is out for the afternoon.  But mostly, I read.  A lot.  Old books.  Old British books.  Would you like to hear about them?
